Academic Calendar

2024/2025

The academic year is divided into two semesters, fall and spring. Each semester contains between 11 and 14 weeks of lectures followed by an examination period of approximately six weeks. If necessary, special examination arrangements can be made for international students; usually, the end of the spring term for international students is 30th June in order to enable them to finish their courses before the summer vacation.

FALL SEMESTER  (October – end of January)

7 October  – 11 October 2024 Intensive course of the Czech language
14 October  – 20 December 2024 Classes (10 weeks) at the Theatre Faculty
20 December 2024 – 5 January 2025 Christmas holidays
6 January – 10 January 2025 Classes (11th week) at the Theatre Faculty
11 January – 31 January 2025 Examination period & realization of the final projects at the Theatre Faculty

28 September – Czech Statehood Day

28 October – Czech Independence Day

17 November – Struggle for Freedom and Democracy Day

24 December – Christmas Eve

25 December – Christmas Day

26 December – St. Stephen’s Day (Czech: „The Second Christmas Day“)

1 January – New Year’s Day

 

SPRING SEMESTER  (beginning of February – end of June*)

10 February – 14 February 2025 Intensive course of the Czech language for new coming students
17 February  – 25 May 2025 Classes (14 weeks) at the Theatre Faculty
1 – 5 April 2025 SETKÁNÍ/ENCOUNTER– an International Festival of Theatre Schools
18 April – 21 April 2025 Easter holidays
30 April 2025 Application deadline for international students for the next academic year, Theatre Faculty
26 May – 30 June 2025 Examination period (1st part)
1 July – 31 August Summer vacation
